When it comes to shows we have many talented members who are able to edit. We also have members who can't edit or are still learning how to edit. I believe that all shows should start stating whether the entries can be edited or not. That way our entries that are un-edited aren't judged against edited entries. Because 9/10 the edited entries will over top the un-edited entries and it isn't overall fair to us members who chose to not edit or aren't able to edit.
It's just a thought I know most shows have un-edited and edited classes but I think all shows need to have them.

I think hosts/judges should clearly state if they are or will be biased towards edited entries, or if they will be judging based on whether or now the entry is edited and how well it is edited.
If the host/judge says editing will not affect the results, I feel they must provide the option for feedback or a scorecard if requested.

In addition...each show should define exactly what they see as the difference between unedited and edited. I've seen unedited shows that apparently required background blurring, and ones that even just adjusting the lighting on your picture was considered editing.

Only the adding of reins and stirrup leathers should be allowed in those pictures.

I agree with this so much! For me at least, I don't know about others, it feels like I have to edit my picture with at least mane and tail to even have a chance in top 3 because whenever I've not edited less of my entries have gotten high in the results list. As Addelyn said, it should be clear what counts as edited or not as it differs from one persons opinion to another.
Another thing I dislike seeing is that the editing classes sometimes get awarded more points. I can understand why, as editing takes time, but it again makes me feel as if I have to edit to make my entry worth something. It's as if unedited pictures are worth less, and what does that say to those that doesn't have the means to or can't edit?

Points should be awarded equally. I understand that people want to reward those who edit but it shouldn't be allowed. Everyone should earn the same amount of points or those who edit will end up ruling the leaderboards.

Ok , let me put my two cents in, as i am completely uncapable of editing a picture. And i did try. But i just fail at it. One of the reason i have not yet entered, is, because i would not even know how to edit reins or stirrup leathers on. I have accesories that allow me to have stirrups, but in posses they look like not being used. As someone here already said, I also saw unedited shows which suddenly seem to need editing and seeing i fail in that, i don't compete cause i know i never get a high score anyway. So i agree with those who say if you put unedited in the discription then make it completely unedited. At least those who can't edit can enter too and feel like they can. I don't see what is wrong with it anyway. I do love all those edited pictures of which some almost look not like sim horses but real horses ridden by sims. It blows me away. As for scorecards or point showing, maybe that can be done by the staff if there is a dispute. Opinions will always be different, and judges never judge the same every time. But that is just my idea.

Ooh pleased I read this. Typically after I've created my first show.
Also thanks for the link to tutorials about Posemaking Serenity, I've been after something like that.
